Wow! [My mom is coming to visit – these are pics I’ll show her, as well as places we might go…that I’ve never been to either.]

Very nice! You continue to inspire! Going to SF, renting a bike and going off with my D700 and a TRIPOD!

Thank you, George! I’m so jealous…can’t wait to see your shots from SF. Your shots were great without a tripod, but now, it’s almost going to be unfair!

I love red train. what would otherwise be just a turn, now looks like candy. Speaking of candy–the museum ceiling came out beautifully. with that i may actually HAVE to make the trip! Thanks.

Thank you, Rachael! I think certain parts of Tacoma are quite stunning. I was lucky to find Titlow Park, and, of course, the Museum of Glass is always great to visit.

The Discovery and Carkeek park photos are awesome … but there’s something about all the colors and the angle of the one from the Tacoma Museum of Glass that really draws me in! GREAT JOB, Dr. Thapa!

Excellent shots, Mahesh. The cloud over the lighthouse in Discovery Park is too perfect.

Question about the following shot on the beach at Carkeek — is the G3 really capable of such an incredible dynamic range, or were you blending exposures?

Thanks, Chris! Sorry for the delayed response. The Carkeek shot is a blend of several bracketed exposures. No camera I know of has that kind of dynamic range.

Mahesh – I originally was captivated by your images over on FM what must be 10 -12 years ago now? Love this site and layout. Your images over there inspired me to take a photo trip with my younger brother to the Olympics several years ago. One of the best times of my life! I see a comment about a pregnancy. Best wishes with that. I’ve always been impressed with your ability to keep up your career and travel/photography. You’re in for a new “time management” challenge, but a great challenge it is! It’s funny, but I feel like I know you without having met you. Keep the imagery coming! All the best . . .

Great series Mahesh, as always. Looking forward for some future posts in the C-E. When is your baby due?

Thanks, Emil! The baby (Kishore) is doing very well! I’ll come by sometime to C-E, when things at home settle down. 🙂

Carkeek park is a great place to photograph the sunset over the olympics, with a complete view of the mountains. It looks like you took this picture in Winter, based on the position of the sun

Thanks, Kris! That shot was taken in March.
